Terms of service
Last updated 28 September 2026
1. Who we are
GrasslandTools is provided by True North Technologies Limited, a company registered in Ireland, company number 562612. Registered office: Suite A2, No. 1 Charlotte Quay, Limerick, V94 TW5E, Ireland. We work from Unit 4, Kilsheelan House, Shannon, Co. Clare, V14 PP66. You can reach us at info@moregrass.ie or +353 61 708 423.
2. What these terms cover
GrasslandTools on the web and our phone apps: the GrasslandTools app, the E-gate app, the Grasshopper app and the WeighRite app (together, "GrasslandTools"). Devices you buy from us are covered by our terms of sale. How we handle your data is in our privacy notice.
3. Your account
- Give us true details and keep your password to yourself. What's done with your login is your responsibility.
- You can bring others onto your farm: a farm team, farm workers, an advisor or a contractor. They see and do what you allow, and you can remove them at any time. You're responsible for who you invite.
- GrasslandTools isn't for children under 16.
4. Subscriptions
- Some features need a subscription. The plans and prices are shown before you pay. A voucher or a device may include time on GrasslandTools; that time starts when it's added to your account.
- Subscriptions bought on our website are billed by Stripe; those bought in an app are billed by Apple or Google under their terms, and are managed and cancelled there.
- A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. Cancel at any time; it runs to the end of the period you've paid for.
- If you're a consumer, you can cancel a new subscription within 14 days for a refund. If you asked us to start straight away, we may keep a fair amount for the days you used.
- We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a price rises, and you can cancel before it does.
- If a subscription ends, your farm records stay. Measurements from your devices are still received; the parts of GrasslandTools that need a subscription wait until you renew.
5. E-gate licence
An e-gate comes with its first year of the E-gate service. After that the service is renewed yearly. If a licence isn't renewed, we remind you, and after a grace period of three weeks the online features stop while the gate keeps working from your phone over Bluetooth. Renewing restores them.
6. Your farm's data is yours
- The records you and your devices put into GrasslandTools belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them to provide GrasslandTools to you and to the people you share your farm with.
- We also use them, combined with other farms' and without identifying you, for regional grass growth figures and for our leaderboards, as the privacy notice explains. You can ask us to leave your farm out.
- We don't sell your data.
7. Services you connect
You can send your records to other services, such as PastureBase Ireland, AgriNet, ICBF, ONPH or Fodgan. We send them only what you ask us to, when you connect or upload, and their own terms apply to what they do with it.
8. Using GrasslandTools fairly
Don't try to get at other people's farms or accounts, overload or interfere with the service, copy it or pull data out of it automatically, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend an account that does, and we'll tell you why.
9. The figures are a guide
Grass covers, growth rates, feed budgets, grazing plans, nutrient and nitrates figures are estimates from your measurements and models. Use them alongside your own judgement. Decisions about your farm, and meeting the rules that apply to it (such as nitrates and derogation), remain yours.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep GrasslandTools running and your records safe, but can't promise it will never be interrupted. The apps keep working offline and send what you've measured when they're back online. We improve GrasslandTools over time; if we remove something you pay for, we'll tell you first.
11. Our responsibility to you
- We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care.
- If you use GrasslandTools for your business, we aren't responsible for loss of profit, business or opportunity, and our total responsibility is limited to what you paid us for GrasslandTools in the 12 months before the problem.
- Nothing here limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
12. Closing your account
You can delete your account in the app's settings or ask us to. Deleting closes it straight away and signs you out everywhere. Because a whole farm's history is easy to lose by mistake, we keep your farm records so the account can be restored if you change your mind. If you want them erased as well, tell us and we will, within a month. We may close an account that breaks these terms, telling you first where we can.
13. If something goes wrong
Please contact us first. These terms are governed by Irish law, and the Irish courts can hear any dispute. If you're a consumer elsewhere in the EU or in the UK, you keep the protection of your own country's law and courts.
14. Changes to these terms
We'll email you at least 30 days before a change that matters to you takes effect. If you don't want to continue, you can cancel before then.
